The Family Page is a website about families and parenting. But it’s also about us, the Page family. Yes, you read that correctly, our last name is Page and that’s why we chose to call our website The Family Page. If you don’t like that, blame my wife, it was her idea.
But it’s not just about us, it’s about all families, so whilst I’ll be sharing stories about my family (me, my wife and our son) I’ll also be including stories of other families, and also tips and tricks we’ve learnt over the years, and continue to learn.
So let me introduce our family to you, starting with the youngest. My son Jay was born in 2008, and at the time of writing is in Grade 3 of Primary school (Elementary for the North Americans). Then there’s my wife, SO (Significant Other) who runs her own company with a friend of hers, and enjoys, way to much, telling me what to do. Lastly there’s me, Edward, who is currently writing this and wishing I was in bed asleep. Okay I do other stuff to, but they’re stories for another time.
Since it’s relevant to what I’ll be writing on this site, I’ll also mention that I have degrees in psychology (where I did an inordinate amount of study on childhood development) and teaching. Of course, like most things in life, learning from experience is a thousand times better than learning at school, and I’ve learnt more since completing the degrees than I did studying for them.
I’m sure I’ll be writing more about the members of our family in future posts, so I’ll leave it there and hope you have a good time wandering around the site. And please by all means tell us what you think.
